2 Friends Sterling Silver ring with a round gemstone of your choice! All materials in included!

Have you always wanted to create a silver ring for yourself or a friend? This 4.5-hour class is perfect for you. No tools, supplies, or precious metals are needed—just wear clothes that can get a little dirty. The $425 fee includes all silver, gemstones, and instruction for you and a friend. 

In this class, you will craft a Sterling Silver band and set a round gemstone in a Sterling Silver setting. Stone options include Rose Quartz, BC Jadeite, Obsidian, Cat's Eye, Tiger Eye, Blue/Goldstone, Moonstone, Black Onyx, Garnet, Carnelian, and more. Higher-priced stones are available for an additional fee, or you can bring your own round, non-faceted stone (8-15mm in diameter). Please email ahead to ensure your stone is suitable.

We'll start by measuring your finger and cutting the silver sheet or wire to size. You'll then file and sand the strip to clean it up. At this point, you can add texture or wait until after soldering.

Next, we'll cover the basics of soldering and solder the ring band closed. Once soldered, we'll clean up the ring. If desired, you can add more texture at this stage. If there's extra time, we can add embellishments, or you can book additional studio time for further ring setting and soldering.

We'll then measure the stones and create a round Fine Silver setting, soldering it closed. Once we confirm it fits the stone, we'll solder the setting onto the ring.

Finally, you'll set the stone, polish the ring, and complete any final clean-up. You'll leave with a stunning, handcrafted ring. 

This class can be booked for evenings and weekends. Normally, classes and lessons are booked by timeslot, but since this is a longer class, it's best to either email ahead so I can reserve time for you on my calendar or book and pay for the class, and then we can arrange a preferred time. The studio is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm.
