This Sterling Silver necklace is a talisman as much as it is a statement piece. Every element has been made by hand, nearly all by me in my studio. From the hollow formed silver beads to the Baltic amber, Turquoise, even the hand cut and polished wooden beads have all been shaped with my own recipe of reclaimed bees wax polish.
Baltic amber is often called captured sunlight, but for me it carries a quiet warmth and an ancient calm, formed over millions of years. It warms to your touch, and has such history.
Turquoise has long been worn as a sky stone, linked with safe travel, protection and clear communication. These are very old Turquoise stones, hand cut and polished. I discovered these stones on a 200 year old women's Tuareg necklace, a nomadic people famed for jewellery making. I wear the other pair of turquoise stones often. This necklace deserved something special.
The wooden beads bring in something earthy and grounded. The wood was discovered in an abandoned logging/mining camp in British Columbia, likely dating back to 150 years old. Together they create a piece that feels like it has a story before it even reaches you.
The capsule pendant is decorated with hand cut stars in copper and sterling silver. It shifts and moves as you move, catching the light and making a soft, subtle music that only those close to you will notice.
